The world’s smallest transistor built with just seven atoms (plus a few more to hold it and connect it up). This work was done partially at the University of New South Wales, in Australia. Does this represent a leap forward in technology? Does it imply that new computers that are hundreds of times more powerful, or hundreds of times smaller, will be in stores within the next five to ten years?
