This article from the NY Times talks about a couple of new, potentially commercial, methods for further shrinking memory. The article is very interesting and I wonder what the ‘translation lag’ is between the discovery (either from within a university or from within a commercial research enterprise), the patent, industrial development and eventual commercialisation?
